A several hundred person department in a large higher education organization faced the challenge of how to raise engagement among its diverse employee population (the most diverse group in the university.) Due to the client organization’s business strategy focus on achieving high performance and a collaborative and inclusive culture, raising employee engagement was prioritized by leadership as a critical area for improvement. Prior efforts had not yielded desired improvements, and the organization felt stuck.

In the first year of implementation, the client organization improved engagement by 7%. 11 of 12 areas measured had a positive improvement and gains of nearly 15% were achieved in specific areas targeted for improvement.
